Celebrate

We made it! We have finished one semester of seminary. I say "we" because it is a team effort for sure even though Josh is the only one attending classes.
We had a great thanksgiving celebration. We had hoped some of his coworkers might come over but it ended up just being the four of us. We made the whole meal for the first time ever. Josh cooked an amazing turkey (again- his tradition for the last 3 years) and I did the rest. It was such a great feeling to sit down at a beautiful table and know it was all made with our hands. The day was very relaxing because there was no more cooking to do and so we just enjoyed each other and the Macy's Day parade- a favorite of mine. We even borrowed our neighbor's tv for the event!
It has truely been a joint effort to finish this semester well but we did it! Lots of hard seasons but it is finished. I have been reminded this week of my need to slow down and think. Think about God's grace and hand in our lives moment by moment of each day. Josh and I are putting lots of thought into this Christmas since this will be Jack's first memorable Christmas; we want it to be about Christ and Christ alone.
There is much to be excited about in our house. Pretty soon Josh and I will have a getaway to go to Passion Conference in Atlanta and see some of our closest friends. This will be our first time away since Isabel was born almost a year ago. I can't express how much we need this time. Josh's mom and stepdad will be taking care of the kids and I am so thankful for their willingness to help make this happen. Then we just found out Josh's dad and stepmom will be coming for Christmas. We missed being with our Boston family at thanksgiving so this will be great to have a full house at Christmas. Anyway love and miss you all!
