Toddlerhood Talk

This has been an eventful week in our house. Filled with planning for our move to Louisville (trying to downsize) and the adventures of parenthood. Jack has certainly entered toddlerhood which for us means dealing with tantrums and laughing. He is certainly testing out the waters and we are drawing our lines as hard as we can. All in the same moment, he is making us laugh with his communication. He can say "socks, daddy (das), mommy, hi, yap, bye, no, yes, hat, duck" and a few other sounds that we haven't decoded yet. He loves to tell jokes in his jabber and then laugh at himself. He also pretends he is talking on the phone and having a full conversation as he walks around the house- truly hilarious. I did teach him to load the washing machine and he loves that- of course he doesn't think he is working or he probably wouldn't be so eager to do it.
Isabel is cooing and making lots of girlie noises. Such fun after all the maleness in our house. She is becoming more and more "easy" (as much as an infant can be). She loves for you to talk to her. You can put other objects in her view but she'd much rather look at a person. She is rather sound sensitive so Millie's loud bark will set her off into orbit. All I can say is boys and girls sure are different!
Josh and I are trying to savor every last moment here in Boston with our friends. So we went to the MFA (art museum) with Melissa on Thursday. Jack certainly doesn't understand the concept of whisper. So we were in this grand room with paintings by Monet, Sisley, Renoir, and other impressionists while he was loudly expressing he liked all the paintings (in his jabber) while snacking on Teddy Grahams. Isabel was quietly taking in the works of art. No word on our moving plans yet but hopefully we should hear from seminary housing next week. We'll certainly be glad to know so we can make plans!
